Optimisation Methods and Genetic Algorithms
10th February 2011, Glasgow

Employees of ACTC member companies, are entitled to two places free of charge. Employees of companies that are not ACTC members will be required to pay a nominal fee to help defray costs (see below for details).

Registration is required. Please ensure the payment details section of the form is completed.

Overview

This one course provides an insight understanding to optimisation methods for both unconstrained and constrained optimisation. Furthermore, slightly more advance optimisation methods such as the dynamic optimisation method and genetic algorithms are illustrated in this course too. Hands-on session for each topic is used to reinforce the lecture.

The Optimisation is extremely important subject used across all the Engineering fields. For control engineering applications it is widely used for optimal control and parameter identification/estimation.
