The Advanced Control Technology Club
ADAMS in a Control Systems Engineering Environment

Joint Seminar between Mechanical Dynamics International Ltd and The ACT Club

To be held at University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, 2nd November 1999

Agenda

As mechanical systems are becoming increasingly complex and requiring more and more automatic control, controls and mechanical systems engineering groups need to work more closely using the same models and equations early in the design cycle.  Errors found late in the design process are costly. This seminar explains how ADAMS links with control engineering tools (MATLAB, MATRIXx and EASY5) to provide an integrated design environment.

ADAMS, developed by Mechanical Dynamics Int., is  the  worlds  most  used  computer  software for simulation of motion in mechanical systems. For more information on ADAMS please see the article on ADAMS in the ACT Club.

The agenda is as follows:

09.00 Coffee and Registration
09.30 Welcome and Introduction to the Seminar, Andrew Clegg (ACT Club)
09.45 ADAMS: Overview and Demonstration, Charles Glide (MDI UK Ltd.)
11.15 Tea/Coffee
11.30 ADAMS/Controls: Worked Example, Neil McGowan (MDI UK Ltd.)
12:30 Application Areas for ADAMS/Controls, Charles Glide (MDI UK Ltd.)
13:00 Lunch
14.00 ADAMS in the ACT Club, Andrew Clegg (ACT Club)
14.30 Hands on Tutorial using ADAMS
17.00 Close
The programme is designed to provide real value and benefits to guests.  In particular you will have the opportunity to do the following: We have pleasure in inviting you and/or your colleagues to attend this seminar free of charge. Further this invitation is extended to companies who are not members of the ACT Club. Registration is required.
