Applied Control Technology Consortium (ACTC)ACTC Scheduled Training: 23-24 May 2007, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow |
![]() |
This Scheduled Training Course is free of charge to employees of ACTC member companies. There are a limited number of places and allocation is on a first come first served basis, so early registration is advised. Each ACTC member company is allowed a maximum of two delegates on each Scheduled Training Course. This is to allow each member company to get a fair chance of accessing each course. However, if there is low uptake for a particular course then we would be happy to increase this number. A small proportion of places on these Scheduled Training Courses will be made available to paying delegates from companies that are not ACTC members (see Registration Form below for details).
All delegates are required to register and can be made using the form below. Please ensure the payment details section of the form is completed. Alternatively, a printable registration form is available, or you can register by calling Lesley Breen on (+44) 0141 553 1111.
Meeting Description and Agenda
This two-day course provides training at an engineering level in Classical Control Theory and Control System Design. It is a generic course, not specific to any particular industry. The course concentrates on time and frequency domain analysis of linear control systems. PID control and tuning methods are also covered. Significant hands-on examples are used to reinforce the lectures. As with all of our courses discussions and questions are encouraged.
This is one of our most popular training courses. It is especially useful to those engineers who may not have had specific control theory teaching during their engineering education. It also provides an excellent refresher course in basic control engineering for practising engineers. A follow-on course (Control Fundamentals 2) covers additional practical topics, including digital control, non-linearities and system identification. As with all ACTC training courses discussions and questions will be encouraged.
